I don’t know if anyone in the UK really cares, but I’m curious if any of you have an opinion on what’s going on and if you prefer any candidates.

I live in England and am puzzled as to the purpose of these elections.
How do they work, what do they do and how do you vote. Are you supposed to vote for both a Republican and Democratic candidate if you are only going to vote Democrat in the end?
In that case, you would surely choose a poor Republican candidate?
